COI Watchdog for trades

COI tracking for concrete contractors

Heavy equipment, strict insurance specs, zero tolerance for lapsed paperwork. COI Watchdog keeps your certificates as solid as your slabs.

The concrete COI headaches

  • Commercial and DOT work comes with strict insurance specifications your COI has to satisfy line by line.
  • Project-specific additional insured endorsements pile up across pours.
  • Pump trucks and finishers are subcontractors with their own COIs to track.
  • Auto liability for mixers and heavy equipment is always under scrutiny.

How COI Watchdog helps

  • Walk into spec review knowing every line of your certificate satisfies the insurance spec.
  • Snap a photo of any COI and see its expiry dates and missing coverages in seconds — free, no account, the file is never kept.
  • One dashboard shows every certificate's status. Expiring soon and expired are flagged automatically, including additional insured and waiver of subrogation status.
  • Reminders go out before policies lapse. On paid plans, we email the subcontractor's insurance agent to chase the renewal, under your business name, when you turn that on.
  • Expired certificates stay in a read-only archive. Nothing is deleted, so the paper trail is always there.

Concrete COI questions

What do GCs check on a concrete contractor's COI?

The spec usually names the required coverages and limits, plus additional insured and waiver of subrogation wording per project. COI Watchdog reads the dates, the additional insured status, and the waiver status straight off each certificate so you can check them against the spec.

Can I track my subcontractors' COIs too?

Yes. Pump companies, finishers, and every other sub get their own tracked certificates with independent expiry dates and status flags.

Does COI Watchdog verify coverage with the carrier?

No. A certificate summarizes a policy; we read certificates but we don't verify coverage. Talk to your insurance professional about coverage decisions.

What happens to expired certificates?

Nothing is deleted. Expired certificates stay in your archive as read-only records you can view and download any time — useful when a spec question comes up months later.
